One of the most important reasons to start organizing travel in Burkina Faso was to be able to make a constructive contribution to the well-being of Burkinese. Burkina Faso was then and still is one of the poorest countries in the world. Unemployment and poverty are high.

From the start that trips were organized, there was good cooperation between Thiosane Travel and the Burkinese who took on an important part of the work and were therefore important for the organization. Thiosane Travel, in turn, was important to the Burkinese who obtained income that was important to individuals and families. Fortunately, this cooperation still exists and although the field of activity of Thiosane Travel has shifted to all of West Africa, Burkina Faso is still the base.

A welcome side effect was that many travelers made a spontaneous financial contribution to the aid of the Burkinese. Thiosane Travel was able to outsource this financial support to persons and organizations in Burkina Faso who in turn organized and supported projects such as building schools, paying school fees and providing medical assistance.
